Smith, Paul A. (4 May 1943 - 22 June 2008)

Paul A. Smith, 65, of Merrillan died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Evergreen Home, under St. Joseph’s Hospital Home Hospice, Chippewa Falls.

Paul was born May 4, 1943, in Chicago, IL, to parents Sylvester and Ada (Everett) Smith. His parents moved to Humbird when he was a small child and lived there until their house fire in 1965. They moved to Merrillan, where Paul lived until recently moving to the Evergreen Home in Chippewa Falls.

Paul was a sports fan and an avid Cub’s fan above all others. Loving the game of baseball, one of his proudest moments was being a bat boy for the Corner Bar softball team in Merrillan. The team purchased Paul an adult tricycle many people in the area saw him ride in Merrillan.

He is survived by a twin brother, Robert (special friend Jean Sieg) of Eau Claire; two sisters, Sharon (Manuel) Orozco and Patricia Muich, both of Chicago, Il; besides many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Sylvester Jr., Donald and Gene; and five sisters, Marcella, Beverly, Nancy, Lila and Ada.

Funeral services for Paul A. Smith will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, with Rev. Phil Saul officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Merrillan.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
