Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gray went to Marshfield to spend a few days with Mrs. Al. Gray. They also visited with friends at Neillsville.

Misses Martha Kurtz and Amanda Buchholtz left Saturday for their homes in Milwaukee, after a few days visit with Bernard Schommer and family.

Will Burmeister came down from Park Falls Monday, on business matters. It will be remembered that he and Wm. Holterman, formerly of Spencer, recently went into the restaurant business at Park Falls. He says business is very good.

Mrs. Wm. Allmann and children came down from Medford the 4th and spent the balance of the week with her brother-in-law, Chas. Allmann, and family. Will came down Sunday and accompanied them home that evening in brother Charley’s auto.

Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Galewski, of Milwaukee, arrived Saturday for a week’s visit with his uncle, Aug. Lukowicz, and family. Joe and his wife have visited Colby a number of times and have not a few friends and acquaintances who are always glad when they come.

Herman Wiedenhoeft and John Reedle and their wives autoed to Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire last Sunday. They intended to do a little fishing over that way but bumped into a heavy thunder storm which was not included in their plans made before hand. They returned home fishless.

Miss Elizabeth Tepoorten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tepoorten of the town of Colby, was taken to the hospital at Marshfield last Saturday and underwent an operation for appendicitis the same day. Dr. Schemmer accompanied her to Marshfield. The young lady is reported as getting along very nicely.
