Hubing, John N. (8 MAR 1875 - 3 JAN 1942)

John Nicholus Hubing, 66, resident here for 45 years, died of pneumonia at his home Saturday noon, Jan. 3rd, 1942.

Mr. Hubing was born March 8, 1875, at Belgium, Wis., and came as a small child with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hubing, to Clark county.

In 1898 he was married to Mary Ziglinski of Neillsville. They then made their home on a tract of land in Pelsdorf, which was then a complete wilderness and has since been developed into a large dairy farm, where he resided until the time of his death.

One infant son preceded him in death, also two brothers, Ernest in Jan. 1941, and Frank in Sept, 1941.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Vinetta) Johnson of Chicago, Mrs., Paul (Lorene) Bauer of Greenwood and Mrs. Roland (Beatrice) Bauer of Loyal; also three sons, Anton of Neillsville and Raymond and Joe at home. Nineteen grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers also survive; Mrs. Geo. (Kate) Beaver of Granton, Mrs. John (Clara) Wojciechowski, Emil and George of Athens.

Solemn funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock form St. Anthony’s church in Loyal. The Rev. Fr, Aloys Zinthefer, local pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Fr. C. Brady of Abbotsford, as deacon, and the Rev. Fr. A. Heindl of Marshfield, as sub-deacon.

Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were the three sons, Anton, Raymond and Joe, and the three sons-in-law, Paul Bauer, Roland Bauer and Kenneth Johnson.

Flower girls were Doris Anderson, Mrs. Dick Puffer, Mrs. Wally Engebrecht and Phyllis and Marjorie Bauer.

Hubing, Mrs. Frank Hubing, Mr. and Mrs. Wally Engebrecht and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wojciechowski, Athens and Mrs. Anna Wilger, Mrs. Dick Puffer and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gitchel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
