On Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1945, at 11 o’clock, Miss Germaine I. Mauel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Mauel, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of T/Sgt. Glenn Shreve, son of Mrs. Lillian Shreve, Weyauwega, at the St. Bernard Rectory, Abbotsford, with the Rev. Francis Brockman performing the ceremony.

The bride was attired in a brown suit with chartreuse and brown accessories, and wore an orchid corsage. Attending her was her sister, Miss Eleanore Mauel, who wore a green suit with yellow and brown accessories, and had a corsage of yellow tea roses.

Captain Frederick Wurzback, Chicago, a brother-in-law of the groom, was best man.

A breakfast at 1:00 o’clock was served at the Woodland Hotel, at which 70 relatives and friends were invited. In the afternoon a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents from 3 to 5 o’clock, at which there were about 125 in attendance. The home decorations were of cut fall flowers.

Before her marriage the bride operated a beauty shop in the city of Weyauwega for the past five years, where she had gained for herself a host of friends. She was a graduate of Owen High School of the class of 1935, and later attended the Cosmetic School of Arts at Eau Claire. The groom ahs just returned from a three year stay overseas, having been engaged in the European Theatre of war. Before entering service he attended the School of Engineering at Detroit, Mich. The couple are now spending a short honeymoon in the northern part of the state.

And Mrs. Frederick Wurzback, Leona Shreve, Chicago; Mrs. Robert Pratt, Iola; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Paschke, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wendt, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Stroschein, Mrs. Robert Root, Dolores and Dorothea Dobbins, Veronica Verdon, Mrs. Carlton Cheek, Mrs. Ralph Stevens, Mrs. Marie Clauson, Mrs. Ed Domke, Mrs. John Brier, Pearl Rolloff, Walter Purchatzke, Lt. and Mrs. Tom Carem, all of Weyauwega; Mr. and Mrs. John Jaeger, Stratford; Miss Rosalie Mauel, West Bend; Lt. Col. And Mrs. L.M. Regner, 1st Lt. Joyce Barager, ANC, Cpl. John L. Barager; Cpl. Donald Kraut, T/Cpl. Edward Davey, and James Cattanach, U.S. Navy.
