Krembs, Frederick J. #2 (15 MAY 1934 - 12 MAY 2008)

Frederick J. Krembs, 73, Binghamton, N.Y., died on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, N.Y., after a long illness with heart disease. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 19, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial followed in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.

Frederick John Krembs was born on May 15, 1934, in Stevens Point, to Ferdinand and Mildred (nee Bard) Krembs. He was raised and received most of his education in Stevens Point. He completed his final two years of high school at St. Thomas Military Academy, in St. Paul, Minn., graduating in 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years prior to attending college. He married Adeline M. Lesar on Aug. 29, 1959, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. He attended the UW- Madison and graduated with a degree in Electrical engineering. In 1962, he started his employment with IBM, in Rochester, Minn., and was transferred to Huntsville, Ala., where he worked for 15 years. He was then transferred to Binghamton, N.Y., in 1977, where he worked for IBM until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Vestal, N.Y. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed model railroading, Classical music, and the history of fire engines.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Adeline, Binghamton, N.Y., his children, Susan (Hugh) Gardner, Arlington, Va., Mary (Wes) Wieser, Centerton, Ark., Kathleen (Gary) Kaminski, Glastonbury, Conn., and Thomas (Chicko) Krembs, Nagoya, Japan; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Michael, Matthew, Ashley, Jeffrey, Emily, Minami, and Kaison; one sister, Joanne Krembs, Steven Point; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Peter Krembs.

The family asks that memorials be given to St. Jude’s Hospital for children, Menphis, Tenn., or to St. Vincent DePaul’s Food Pantry.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
