Hanas, Dorothy C. (30 NOV 1946)

A very pretty wedding took place at annunciation Catholic Church, Chicago on Nov. 30th, 1946, when Miss Dorothy Catherine Hanas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael M. Hanas of Chicago became the bride of Frank Stanley Gronek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley S. Gronek of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.). rev. Father H. Heneley officiated at 9:30 o’clock nuptial mass.

The bride was attired in a gown of white satin and train net. Her three-quarter length veil was edged with lace and held by a tiara of beaded pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses and mums. Her pearls were a gift of the groom. Lester Hanas, brother of the bride, gave her in marriage.

The groom’s sister, Miss Rosie Gronek, as maid of honor, was dressed in a pink chiffon gown, pink maline headdress with feathers. The bridesmaids, Miss Sally Girlando was dressed in blue chiffon, blue maline headdress with feathers, and Miss Norma Hanas, sister of the bride, was dressed in blue chiffon and blue maline headdress with feathers. They carried bouquets of pink roses and white mums. Each wore pearls, gifts of the bride.

The groom’s brother, Eddie Gronek was best man. The ushers were John Kozimor and William Zielinski. The groom and his attendants wore tuxedos and carnation boutonnieres.

Mrs. Minnie Hanas, the bride’s mother, and Mrs. Stanley Gronek, the groom’s mother, both wore flowered jersey dresses and corsages of red roses and white mums. The bride, assisted by the maid of honor, carried a beautiful bouquet of white chrysanthemums to the altar of the Blessed Virgin.

Breakfast was served to the immediate families and at five p.m. a reception for 250 people, was held in the Armitage Hall in Chicago.

The bride and groom will make their future home in Chicago, where they both are employed. Best of luck to the happy newlyweds.

Those from out of town who attended the wedding were: Mrs. Stanley Gronek and daughters, Rosie, Sophie and Helen, Mrs. Martha Pawlak, Mrs. Francis Paczkowski, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Prokopinski and Sgt Bennie Pawlak of Hawainer, who has just arrived from overseas.
