Mr. and Mrs. George Meske and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmitt, Mrs. Lee Oberle and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Larson visited at their brother, Fred Oberle, at Chippewa Falls Sunday.

Mrs. Lewis Pagel of Reseburg and Miss Mary Pagel of Mendota visited Mrs. Julia Harper at the Walter Bohn home last Tuesday. Miss Pagel left on Wednesday of last week to return to her work at the hospital in Mendota.

Mendota, Wis. Hospital for the Insane

Miss Inez Rossman, who has been teaching school at McIntosh, S.D., has returned to her home to spend her vacation with her father, Henry Rossman, who has been very ill.

Mrs. Pirl Burrington accompanied her father, Fred Morgan, to Rock Elm, Wis., where they visited the latter’s brother, Bert Morgan and family, on Monday, May 14.

Genevieve Stelter of Stanley, who has been working at the Blue Moon, has gone to her home to care for her mother, who is very ill.

Lieut. Henry Fisher of Thorp, stationed at Victorville Army Air Field, Cal., has 114 points for honorable discharge, but they told him he was needed so badly that he decided to remain in the army for some time yet.

Mrs. Mike Florkowski and daughter Frances of Breezy Hill were afternoon callers at the Anton Fisher home last Monday.

National chairman Henry J. Haiser has just announced that Thorp, Amherst Junction, Lena, Sparta and Sussex were the five towns of Wisconsin that have topped their quota of five pounds per capita of used clothing for War Relief.

The Misses Helen and Regina Gorsenger and Elaine Bendot spent the week-end with Eileen Henke in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Prebosbki and children of Merrill spent the week-end with friends here.

Myron DeForth of Antigo has been here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. DeForth, for the past week.

Hilma Rossler of Chippewa Falls visited with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Buss the last of the week.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Doege and children were Mother’s day visitors with Mrs. Doege’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hudowanic.

Mrs. Jack Loveland and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Parkhill and children, all of Marshfield, and Mrs. Hannah Miller and son of Stanley visited *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
