Wieting, Anna Emilie Therese (8 Feb. 1870 - 24 April 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. John Wieting, who passed away very suddenly on Monday afternoon, April 24, at her home in Neillsville, will be held (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Rev. William A. Baumann will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery. The Jaster Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Wieting, whose maiden name was Anna Emilie Therese Marth, was born February 8, 1870, at West Bend, Wis. When still a small child, she came with her parents to Clark County, and settled in the town of Pine Valley, where she grew to womanhood. Here she received her education and her Christian training, and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in the town of Grant.

On December 2, 1890, she was united in marriage to John Wieting. They took up housekeeping on a farm in the town of Pine Valley, which remained their home until 1920, when they purchased a home on South Grand Avenue, Neillsville, which has been their home ever since.

Six children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. Those left are her husband, John Wieting, three daughters and one son: Elsie, Mrs. Erick Lueck, town of York; Clara, Mrs. Alfred Carl, Neillsville; Ida, Mrs. Irvin Carl, Greenwood; and Tony Wieting, Neillsville. One sister, Mrs. Tena Ulrich, Santa Anna, Cal., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mathilda Marth, Neillsville, also survive. There are 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and enjoyed caring for her household. In spite of her afflictions, cleanliness and neatness were everywhere evident in her home.

Pallbearers will be Kurth Listeman, Henry Naedler, Otto Zaeske, Walter Borde, Albert Hemp and Henry Bartell. Mrs. James Paulus and Mrs. Arthur Haguen will have charge of the flowers.
