Luck, Augusta (5 April 1859 - 15 Mar. 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Luck, 84, of Neillsville were conducted at St. John’s Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, March 18, preceded by brief services at the Jaster Funeral Home. Rev. William A. Baumann was the officiating pastor. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Luck passed away March 15, at the home of her son, Frank Luck, in the town of York, where she had been living for a short time. She had been ill only a week following a fall in which she suffered a hip injury.

The deceased was born in Germany on April 5, 1859. When she was 22 years of age she came to America, and lived for a few years in Waukesha, Wis. Her maiden name was Augusta Timm. She was married to August Luck on June 18, 1885, at Waukesha. Three years later, they came to Clark County, and settled on a farm in the town of Levis. Twenty-five years ago, they purchased a home on East Second Street, where she has since resided. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Church.

Mr. Luck passed away in 1941. Her parents and four brothers and three sisters are also deceased. One sister, Mrs. Johanna Bergen of Tacoma, Wash., survives. She is survived by her three children, Frank Luck, town of York; Ida, Mrs. Richard Wedekind, and Helen, Mrs. Warren Hake, town of Grant. There are ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Frank Hemp, Henry Bartell, Albert Degener, Ferdinand Kopp, William Nemitz and Charles Schroeder.
