Allen, Susan (21 JUN 1880 - 20 MAY 1945)

Susan Warner, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Warner, was born in the Town of Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., June 21st, 1880 and died at Victory Hospital, Stanley, Wis., May 20th, 1945 at 2:10 a.m. at the age of 64 years 10 months and 29 days. She suffered a stroke, Friday, May 18th.

She attended the public school at Eidsvold. She was united in marriage to W.R. Allen, Aug. 21, 1910 at Thorp by Rev. J.B. Bachman. They lived on a farm near Eidsvold until Mr. Allen’s death 15 years ago. She then came to Thorp and kept house for her father until his death in Jan. 1939. Three sisters preceded her in death.

One brother, Bill Warner has made his home with her for the last five years.

She leaves to mourn her loss, one brother and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and host of friends.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Woman’s Relief Corps for over 30 years and president of the W.R. C. Social Club at the time of her death.

Funeral services were held at the Thorp Funeral Home at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon, May 23, Rev. Nancy A. Mitschelen officiating. Six of the Son of veterans acted as pallbearers, Amos Sisco, Isaac Sisco, Harry Bull, John Rossman, Ernest Nimbar and Ed Fenstermacher.
