Hemann, Linda L. #2 (28 JUN 1950 - 8 APR 2008)

Linda L. Hemann, 57, Greenwood, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, April 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Green. The Rev. Keith Apfelbeck officiated. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were her brothers, Leon, Loren, Danny, Lynsey, Russell Kenneth and Marvin Gronwoldt, Jr.

Linda Lou Gronwoldt was born on June 28, 1950, in Riceville, Iowa, to Marvin Sr. and Marlys (nee Souhrada) Gronwoldt. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Riceville area, graduating from Riceville Community High School, 1968. She was united in marriage to David Hemann on Aug. 31, 1968, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Riceville. They farmed in Riceville until June 30, 1979, and then moved to Greenwood. In 1991, they moved to their present home in the town of Mead, rural Greenwood, and formed Double H Dairy in 1992. She farmed with her husband and sold their cows to their son, Allen, in 2008. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp, was the town of Mead treasurer for two years, served as district secretary for D.F.A., was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Auxiliary where she received the state Volunteer Accommodation Award, and volunteered with the Greenwood Santa Visit every December. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, working with computers, sewing for family, friends and the V.A., cake decorating, Making floral arrangements and math.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, David, Greenwood; one son, Allen (Karen) Hemann, Greenwood; one daughter, Crystal Gumz, Spencer; three grandchildren, Ashley and Mitchell Hemann and Alexander Gumz; her mother, Marlys Gronwoldt, Riceville, Iowa; ten siblings, Darlene (Harold) Seidl, Riceville, Iowa; Marvin Jr. (Ardith) Gronwoldt, Riceville, Riceville, Iowa; Loren (Bonnie) Gronwoldt, Riceville, Iowa; Cheryl (Paul) Kunze, Colby; Leon Gronwoldt, Mason City, Iowa; Russell Gronwoldt, Riceville, Iowa; Lynsey Gronwoldt, Riceville, Iowa; Charlene Atkins, Marshfield; Kenneth (Nicole), Lime Springs, Iowa; Danny (Sandra) Gronwoldt, Riceville, Iowa, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Gronwoldt, Sr.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
