Williams, Frances E. (25 APR 1945)

The Olivet Presbyterian Church at Cambria, Wis., was the scene of a very pretty candlelight wedding, Wednesday evening, April 25, 1945, when Frances Eleanor Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Williams of Cambria, Wis., became the bride of Pfc. Bernard Brenner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brenner Sr. of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). The ceremony took place at eight o’clock with the Rev. W.C. Rowlands of Randolph officiating.

Apple blossoms and white tapers formed the setting fro the ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin and net, featuring a sweetheart neckline, leg o’mutton sleeves and a train. She wore a fingertip veil and carried white carnations and sweet peas. She was attended by Margaret Voegeli as maid of honor, her gown was a pink lace and chiffon with matching shoulder veil and she carried pink carnations and sweet peas. The flower girl, Barbara Payne, was gowned in blue taffeta with touches of pink and carried a miniature of the bride’s bouquet. The bridegroom was attended by Clarence Kemmeter of Menasha, Wis., a former buddy in service.

The ushers were Gordon Jones and Robert Lloyd, cousins of the bride.

The wedding music was played by Miss Eleanor Rowlands and Margaret Ann Rowlands sang, "I Love You Truly," and "A Perfect Love.".

The bride’s mother wore an aqua gown with white accessories and corsage of roses and the groom’s mother wore a yellow print jersey and accessories to match with a similar corsage.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

When the couple left for a honeymoon trip to northern Wisconsin, the bride was wearing a brown suit with matching hat and accessories.

The bride graduated from Cambria High School with the class of 1940 and later graduated from the Columbia County Normal School. She has been a rural school teacher for the past three years. The groom has just returned from 25 months overseas in the services of the U.S. Army.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brenner Sr. of Thorp, Wis., parents of the groom and Mrs. Raymond Couillard of Sheldon, sister of the groom; Clarence Kemmeter, Menasha, Mrs. Frank Misiora, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh R. Jones, Mrs. Abbie Williams of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bleigh of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Payne and Mr. and Mrs. William Payne of Dalton.
