Soli, Hans (7 MAR 1898 - 18 FEB 1945)

Hans Soli, 47, of Chippewa Falls, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor Soli of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and brother of Mrs. Hjalmar Brandsness, was fatally injured Sunday evening about 8:45 when struck by a car driven by Jack Radke, 21, of Eau Claire. The accident occurred when Mr. Soli was walking west on Highway 53, on the south side, Chippewa Falls, and was struck about 50 feet east of the main street crossing.

Soli was thrown backward thru the windshield, and he sustained severe gashes about the head as the windshield was torn off. He was conscious for a few moments, called for his wife, and then passed away.

Hans Soli was born Mar. 7, 1898, at Porterville, Eau Claire County. He was married in 1926, at Stanley, to Miss Annie Zais. Besides his wife, he is survived by seven children: Norma, Jane, Clarence, Richard, Jean Marie, Barbara Ann and Shirley May.

He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Gustave, L’Anse, Mich.; Inga of Oteen, N.C.; Henry, Fargo, N.D.; Mrs. Agnes Olson, St. Paul, Minn.; Conrad of Thorp; and Mrs. Hjalmar Brandsness, Thorp. His mother passed away in Nov. 1943 and his father, Victor Soli, in May 1944.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Munson Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls and interment made in Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Roland Schwandt officiating.
