Alice E. Huber

Spencer, Wis. -- Alice E. Huber, 88, of Spencer, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Thursday of this week. A complete obituary will run in the Wednesday edition of the News-Herald.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Spencer is assisting Alice's family with the arrangements.

Alice E. Huber

Spencer, Wis. -- Alice E. Huber, 88, of Spencer, Wisconsin died Monday, April 14, 2008, at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer. The Rev. Karl Rose will officiate. Burial will follow in the West Spencer Cemetery in the town of Sherman in Clark County.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Huber was born April 26, 1919, in Dodgeville, to the late Frank and Emma (Sersch) Walti and was united in marriage to Theodore O. "Ted" Huber on June 18, 1938, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in the town of McMillan in Marathon County. She was a homemaker her entire life.

Alice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and playing cards and games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the love of her life.

Mrs. Huber is survived by two sons, Dennis (Linda) Huber of Chetek and Richard (Mary Ann) Huber of Madison; three grandchildren, Scott (Cathy) Huber and Steven (Michelle) Huber, both of Wausau, and Julie (Allen) Mueller of Andover, Minn. Alice is further survived by six great-grandchildren, Lindsey Mueller, Sara, Zachariah, Ryan, Amanda and Ava Huber; a step-grandchild, Kacy (Andy) McRae; a step-great-grandchild, Amber Hrobsky; two step-great-great-grandchildren, Draeven and Dezaray; a sister, Violet Koenig of Spooner; and she also is survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, on Feb. 7, 2008, her parents and one brother.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Mrs. Huber's memory are encouraged to do so to the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid.

The Huber family would like to thank the staff of the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor for the care and support they gave Alice and her family during her illness.
