Johnson, Karen (Pederson) (September 6, 1856 - February 18, 1930)

Karen Pederson Johnson

Karen Pederson was born in Fedevang, Ringebo Gulbransdalen, Norway Sept. 6, 1856 and died Feb. 18, 1930. She was united in marriage to Ole Johnson Dec. 5th, 1874, who preceded her in death July 14, 1908.

They came to America in 1880 and settled on the present homestead. To this union were born twelve children. They are Mrs. Wm. Stephens of Dorchester, Carl, deceased., Mrs. Hans Groder of Rice Lake, Mrs. G. C. Henderickson, LaGrange, Wyo., Mrs. Herman Lapp, Curtiss, Ella, deceased, Mrs. Olaf Johnson, Rice Lake, Mrs. Anton Olson, Readlyn Sask. Canada, Jacob of Curtiss, Albert of Curtiss, Mrs. Otto Kind, Stetsonville and Nina at home. There are thirty-six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She leaves to mourn her death a twin sister in Bucoda, Wash., and another sister at Meridean, Wis.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Medtlein of Stanley Saturday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock form the home at 2:00 o’clock from the Norwegian Lutheran Church. Burial was made in the Norwegian cemetery.

The Advance joins with the family in extending their heart felt sympathy.

We wish to thank all who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our mother. Especially do we than those who sent the beautiful flora gifts. Rev. Midtlein for his comforting words, all those who furnished cars and the quartette and organist for the songs. Again we express our sincere thanks to you all.
