Schweke, Bernice (19 Oct. 1914 - 24 Oct. 2005)

Bernice Anna Schweke, 91, Ladysmith, died Oct. 24, 2005, at Lakeview Hospital in Rice Lake.

She was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Sweden to Andy and Bertha (Thompson) Anderson. She married Alvin Schweke on Sept. 14, 1934. They lived and made cheese in Brantwood for 10 years.

She is survived by two children, Jim (Sue), Pewaukee; and Janice (Phil) Hakala, Tomahawk; by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; by one brother Russel (Tillie) Anderson, Seattle, Wash.; and by two sisters, Francis De Ladurantaye and JoAnn Bjork, both of Grandview.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Alvin, by one son Vernon, and by four sisters and two brothers.

Services were held Oct. 28, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ladysmith. Burial was in the North Spencer Cemetery, Spencer.

Nash-Jackan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Bernice Schweke was buried in the West Spencer Cemetery, Sherman, Clark County, Wisconsin. Her daughter, Janice, was born in Unity, Clark County, Wisconsin.
