Winkler, Norman E. (20 Mar. 1917 - 25 Dec. 1959)

Norman E. Winkler, a lifelong resident of this community, died of a heart attack last Thursday evening. He was 42 years of age and lived on a farm east of the village the past 11 years.

Winkler suffered the attack after alighting from his car. Two Unity Boy Scouts, members of the Cook family, tried unsuccessfully to revive him with artificial respiration. A physician pronounced him dead.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Langseth officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.

The Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, was in charge of the funeral.

Mr. Winkler was born in Unity March 20, 1917 and received his education in local schools. He was married on September 25, 1940 to Dorothy Schultz, who survives.

Other survivors include five children, Robert, Dennis, Patricia, David and James, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Milton (Emily) Wolfe, Loyal; and Mrs. George (Evelyn) Jeske, Hamburg; and two brothers, John of Waterford and Edward, Tomahawk.
