Johnson, Bertha (24 Nov. 1875 - 18 Apr. 1953)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church for Mrs. E. J. Johnson, 78, who died Saturday evening at the Bethel Convalescent home. Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiated at the services and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, Wis.

Mrs. Johnson, the former Bertha Wieland, was born Nov. 24, 1884 in Germany. She came to this country with her parents when a small child. Her marriage to E. J. Johnson took place in 1893 at Phillips. She has been a resident of this area for many years.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Alma) Edblom, Unity; Mrs. Carl (Esther) Johnson, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Beda Henry, Minneapolis; and Mrs. Victor (Mildred) Dallman, Colby; two sons, Milton, Detroit; and Leonard, Owen; seven grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers, Charles, Oregon City, Ore., and Walter of Unity.

Her husband, two children and two brothers preceded her in death.
