Malone, Betty M. (? - 5 March 2008)

Betty M. (Mrs. Sarge) Malone, 85, of Hatfield died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, while staying with her children in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Betty married Jehu "Sarge" Malone October 25, 1945, in Neillsville. The couple moved to the Hatfield area in the late 1970s. Sarge preceded his wife in death November 13, 2004.

Betty did volunteer work at Black River Memorial Hospital and the Pine View Care Center. She worked at the bloodmobile and assisted the DAV. She was a member of the Hatfield Sportsman’s Club, two homemakers clubs and the TOPS organization of Neillsville.

Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Anderson, West Allis; two sons, Charles (Susan) Malone, Oak Creek, and Mike (DiAnne) Wauwatosa; a granddaughter, Candice Anderson; two great-grandchildren, PJ and CJ; sister-in-law, Verna Scherer, Windsor; nieces, nephews; her grand-dog, "Bailey"; and many friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Scherer.

Graveside Memorial Funeral Services for Betty M. Malone will be held at the Hatfield Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008.

The family prefers memorials be given to, the Black River Falls Boys & Girls Club, or the Black River Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.

Torgerson’s Funeral Service (715-284-4321) Black River Falls is assisting the family with local arrangements.
