Krakowiecki, Victoria (23 DEC 1869 - 27 JUL 1943)

Mrs. Victoria Krakowiecki, 73, passed away July 27, 1943 at her home in Gilman.

The body lies in state at the Thorp Funeral Home until Thursday morning (today) and then taken to her home at Gilman to remain there until the time of the funeral, which will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church at Gilman, and burial will take place in the St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. An obituary will be published next week.

Mrs. Victoria Krakowiecki passed away at her home in Gilman on Tuesday, July 27, 1943, of the infirmities of old age. She had reached the age of 74 years, 7 months and 3 days.

Mrs. Krakowiecki was born in Poland on Dec. 23, 1869. She was united in marriage there to Valentine Krakowiecki in Jan. 1886. They came to this country in May 1889 and settled in Chicago, where they remained for 11 years. They moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1900, and 28 years later, to Gilman. To this union was born 7 children, Mrs. Mary Borda, Mrs. Frances Blach and Mrs. Hattie Lukacewicz, of Chicago; Mike, Gilman; Rev. Stanley, Hatley; Joseph, Chicago; and Sylvester, Lublin.

She is survived by her husband, the above named children, two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Herman, Gilman, and Sister Furria, West Allis; 1 brother, Stanley of Chicago, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a large circle of friends.

A Requiem Mass was led by Father Stanley Krakowiecki on Friday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Gilman. He was assisted by Father Roman Papierniak, Father Sygmund Lengowski, Father W. Kolman, Father Francis Piekarski, Father Peter Rembalski, Father Jerome Kanala and Father V. Rykowski.

The pallbearers were August Borda, Bernard Slota, Edwin Bloch, Edward Herman, Tony Lukacewicz, and Tony Swierkowski
