Wagner, Marie I. (6 January 1876 - 29 October 1968)

Funeral services were conducted Friday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Mrs. Marie I. Wagner, 92, who died in Neillsville, Wednesday, October 29. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wagner, the former Marie Ahrens, was born January 6, 1876, in Illinois. She received her education in Clark County schools and had live in the county most of her lifetime. After the death of her first husband, Albert Aberhams, she was married on July 17, 1917, to Herman Wagner. He died in 1948.

Mrs. Wagner is survived by four children: Mrs. Jack (Anna) Cain of Cicero, Ill., Mrs. Harold Diedrich of Curtiss, Herman Wagner of Hartford and Edward Aberhams of Chicago, Ill., other survivors include: two sisters, Lillie Catlin of Gary, Ind., and Martha Spenchause of Chicago, Ill.; 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wagner was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She entered Memorial Home two years ago.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Alvin J. Larson, Robert S. Anderson, Elmer J. Finck, Steve S. Larson, Kenneth R. Larson, and Chester B. Larson. St. John’s school children, sang, “I’m But a Stranger Here” and “I Fall Asleep in Jesus’ Wounds,” accompanied by Victor Lehmann.

People from out-of-town here for the service included: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Diedrich, Debbie, Karry and Steve Larson of Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Anderson and Mike of Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Chester B. Larson, Melody and Todd Larson of Canyon, Minn.; Arlan Larson of Owen; Ray Laux of Country Hills, Ill.; Herman Wagner, Dorothy and Carol Wagner of Hartford.
