Curtiss, Wis. - Aug. 9, 1951

The Ladies’ Aid of the Ev. Lutheran church will meet on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the parish hall. Mrs. Arthur Laabs and Mrs. John Lokken will serve.

Mr. and Mrs. August Sampson of Wittenberg spent the week-end with the former’s sister, Mrs. Theo Thompson.

Miss Marion Frome, employed in Chicago, Illinois, arrived home last week to spend her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Frane.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stockmeyer and daughter, Nancy, of La Crosse are spending this week with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Stockmeyer.

Mrs. Harold Laabs entertained a party of children at her home on August 2nd to celebrate her son Jerry’s seventh birthday anniversary.

Fred Miller, who had been a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, recovering from injuries received from a fall in his home in Green Grove, Wisconsin which is under construction, on July 26, returned home Friday.

Mrs. Clifford Nenzel and daughter of Bloomer returned home on Sunday after a two days’ visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geary.

E. M. Peterson, who has been a patient at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital since July 29, is getting along as well as can be expected.

Mr. and Mrs. John Erickson and daughter of Ames, Iowa, visited Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant Herrick, Jr., and daughter of Columbus, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Herrick, Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pohl returned home Saturday from a month’s visit with their sons and daughters in Elgin, Ill., and Lake Forest, Ill.

Miss Jean Pawson left Monday for Rochester, Minn., after having spent the past two weeks with her step-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Becken.

Henry Peterson was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Tuesday for medical treatment.
