Leland N. Guk

ARBOR VITAE -- Leland N. Guk, 82, of Arbor Vitae, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 19, 2007, and will be forever missed and loved by all who knew him.

A private memorial service will be held at the Manitowish Waters Community Church. Pastor Chips Paulson will officiate. Burial will be in the Lynn Cemetery, Lynn.

He was born on Aug. 25, 1924, in Lynn, to Edward and Erna (nee Steinbach) Guk.

He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1941. Leland served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, 331st Transport Corps. He married Jane Basso on May 15, 1948. He was a master plumber and belonged to Local 75.

Leland was an avid hunter, fisherman and Packer fan. He enjoyed Western movies, country music and was a 20-year stroke survivor.

Loving husband of Jane; dear father of Tom (Sue) Guk, Barbara (Randy) Miller, Susie (Lloyd) Glynn; sister Arlene (Ray) Brost; proud grandfather of Jessica (Paul) Falck, Leeland Guk, Jacob Miller, Erin Guk, Jeremy Glynn and Maryjane Glynn.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Clara and Elinor.

Memorials may be directed to Manitowish Waters Community Church. A special thanks to Rev. Chips Paulson, Dr. Richard Fossen, Jack, and Dr. Kate Lakeland Hospice.

Bolger Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.

I just came across this for the first time. It has been over a year now since my grandfather has passed. I will always have many of fond memories of growing up as a child with him as my grandpa.
