Tamborino, Gertrude (16 May 1877 - 20 Jan. 1950)

Mrs. Henry Tamborino died at her home in Colby, Wisconsin at 7:30 A.M. Friday at the age of 72 years, a heart attack being the cause of her death. The Christian Mothers Society, of which she was a member, held a rosary service Sunday evening. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Henry, Alphons, Paul and Leo Weix, Henry Tamborino and Lile Kilty, all grand children.

Mrs. Tamborino, the former Miss Gertrude Hoffman, was born in St. Henry, Minn., on May 16, 1877. She was married there to Henry Tamborino on Oct. 16, 1894. In 1919, they moved to Wisconsin and lived in various cities. They came to Colby about six years ago.

Surviving are her husband, 10 children, Mrs. Martin (Mary) Weix and Mrs. Eleanor Kriplean of Colby, Miss Lorraine of Chicago, Miss Inez of Milwaukee, Henry and Charles of Edgar, Mrs. August (Theresa) Schumacher of Wausau, Richard of Antigo, Mrs. Walter (Elizabeth) Corvallis of Oregon and Mrs. Leo (Margaret) Teresinski of Athens. Surviving also are 26 grand children, seven great grand children and nine brothers and sisters - Henry Hoffman of Canada, Mrs. Mary Truitt of Perham, Minn., Frank, John and Paul Hoffman of Le Center, Minn., Alphons Hoffman of California, Peter Hoffman of New York, Louis Hoffman of Idaho and Mrs. Grover Chaney of Denver, Colo. Preceding her in death were her parents, three children, three brothers and one sister.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Lorraine Tamborino of Chicago, Inez Tamborino and Virginia Schjoneman of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoffmann, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hoffman, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman and son, Billy, Mrs. Louis Beer, Mrs. George Degonda, Mrs. Henry Redka, Mr. and Mrs. John Schloesser and Mrs. Joseph Schloesser, all of Le Center, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Weiland, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Beer and Mrs. Clem Selly of Le Sueur, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Jake Beckel of Kasota, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tamborino of Rhinelander.

Mrs. Tamborino was a good Christian and the mother of a large and gifted family who always endeavored to perform her duties to the best of her ability.
