Umhoefer, Mary (Marriage - 26 Aug. 1950)

Miss Mary Umhoefer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton X. Umhoefer, and Bernard Tennis, son of Mrs. Rosa Tennis, were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Saturday, August 26, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating. The bride was attended by her sister in laws, Mrs. Paul Umhoefer as matron of honor and Mrs. James Umhoefer as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Paul Umhoefer as best man and James Umhoefer as groomsman. Ushers were William Schramm, a cousin of the groom, and Robert Pohl, nephew of the groom.

The bride was attired in a gown of white embossed organza with ballerina-length skirt, elbow-length veil falling from a Juliet cap of chantilly lace. Her matron of honor wore an old rose all-over gown, ballerina length, and matching lace headdress, and her bouquet also consisted of pink, gold and white daisies and mums.

A wedding breakfast was served 75 guests in St. Mary’s gymnasium and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and will be at home after September 1st at Unity where the groom is engaged in farming.
