Schmidt, Gladys L. (Marriage - 1950)

Miss Gladys L. Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmidt, and Carl O. Gottschalk, son of Mrs, Adel Gottschalk, were united in marriage Saturday, June 3rd, at 2:30 P.M. at a double ring ceremony at Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was attended by Miss Lucille Gottschalk as maid of honor and Mrs. Lester Schmidt as groomsman. Henry Schmidt and Arnold Gottschalk served as ushers. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The bride was attired in a gown of white slipper satin fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves coming to a point over the wrist and a long train. Her fingertip veil fell from a crown of seed pearls. Her shower bouquet consisted of dark pink roses and white carnations. The maid of honor and the bridesmaid wore identical dresses of net over taffeta fashioned with sweetheart necklines in pink and blue respectively, and matching headdresses. Their bouquets consisted of pink roses and white carnations.

A reception, attended by about 200 guests, was given at the home of the bride’s parents. Those attending were from Oakfield, Woodland, Mayville, Madison, Waupun, Melrose, Owen, Milwaukee, Brandon, Fond du Lac, Rosendale, Neillsville, Loyal, Curtiss, Unity and Colby, Wis.

The couple will make their home with the bride’s parents. The groom is employed at the Cloverdale cheese factory.
