Suda, Cindy L. (15 SEP 1961 - 12 FEB 2008)

Cindy L. Suda, 46, Granton, died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at her home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. A celebration of her life was held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Granton. The Rev. John Trewyn officiated. Caroline Helm, organist, provided music. The Granton Fire Department served as honorary pallbearers.

Cynthia Lou Carstensen was born on Sept. 15, 1961, in Neillsville, to George and Gwen (nee Galbreath) Carstensen. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1979. She married Tony Suda on Oct. 20, 1979. they farmed with her family near Granton. She enjoyed milking cows and working on the farm for more than 22 years. She also assisted the director of emergency management at the Clark County Courthouse. She was a current member of the Granton Fire and Rescue having served for more than 10 years as well as being a past member of Granton First Responders. She took great pride in working with the department and served as president of the Granton First Responders and also as president of the Clark County Fire Investigation Task Force. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will always be remembered for her love of roller coasters.

Survivors include her husband, Tony, Granton; a son, Craig (Charlotte) Suda, Marshfield; two grandchildren, Allen and Graci Suda, Marshfield; her parents, Gwen and George Carstensen, Granton; three sisters, Judy (Mike) Opelt, Milltown, Charlotte Jansen, Granton, and Georgia Kostohryz, Black River Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents; a brother-in-law, Ralph Jansen; and a nephew, Allen Jansen.

Memorials may be directed to the Cindy Suda Memorial Fund. The funds will be directed toward her grandchildren’s education. Memorials are being accepted at Citizens State Bank of Loyal, 110 Maple St., Granton, WI 54436, and M$I Bank, 101 W. 4th St., Marshfield, WI 54449.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
