Graham, Lorraine (22 DEC 1942)

The marriage ceremony for Lorraine Graham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Graham of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), and James T. O’Brien, Washington, D.C., son of Mrs. Myra O’Brien of New York City, was read Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Catholic rectory at Abbotsford by the Rev. Father Francis J. Brockman.

The bride, a graduate of the Owen High School and of a commercial school in Milwaukee, was one of the outstanding young people of this community. For the past three years she has been employed in the offices of the Federal Bureau of Identification at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a talented young lady in music and voice, and was at all times outstanding at social functions.

The groom for the past several years has been employed by the Federal Bureau of Identification, having spent considerable time in the offices in Milwaukee, and later transferred to Washington, D.C. He will begin a new assignment after the first of the year and will have offices in Seattle, Wash.

The bridal couple’s witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Legault of Wausau, a sister and brother-in-law of the bride.

Following the ceremony the young couple returned to the home of her parents, where a bounteous wedding dinner was served to the immediate relatives of the families. The home decorations were in keeping with the Christmas season, with yellow chrysanthemums predominating.

Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien left Tuesday evening for Milwaukee, where they will remain until after New Years. Mr. O’Brien will then go to Seattle, Wash., for his new assignment, and Mrs. O’Brien will follow him about Feb. 1st.

They have the good wishes of their many friends here in Owen and Milwaukee for a most pleasant wedded life.
