Turenne, Delia Mary Juneau (01 JUN 1861 - 30 AUG 1941)

Old age complications were the cause of the passing away of Delia Mary Juneau Turenne, 80 years, two months, and 30 days of age at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rose Yates, on August 30.

She was born on June 1, 1861, at Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Eighteen years later she moved to Escanaba, Mich., with her parents. Five years later the family moved to Fond du Lac, where she lived with her parents for two years until 1881, when she united in marriage with Louis Turenne on October 10. In the year 1908 the couple moved to Clark county where they settled on a farm nine miles southeast of Thorp. In the year 1926 her husband preceded her in death. Two years later she came to Owen where she has made her home ever since with her daughter, Rose Yates and family.

She leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Peter and Joseph of Thorp; and two daughters, Delia of Fond du Lac, and Rose of Owen. A son, George, and a daughter, Maggie, preceded her in death. Also 42 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the Holy Rosary church of Owen on Sept. 1, with Father Ameiul of Marathon City officiating. Interment was made in St. Bernard’s cemetery at Thorp.

Among those from away that came to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Flanders, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Flanders, Mesdames Orrin Larson and Orville Prene of Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Turenne and children, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Turenne and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turenne and children, and Mrs. Frank Hendricks of Thorp; Mrs. Edward LePage and children of Superior; and Mrs. Joseph Pettit and daughter, Patty of Altoona.
