Curtiss, Wis. - Mar. 3, 1949

Mrs. Fred Miller will be hostess to the Ladies’ Aid of St. Paul’s Lutheran church on Wed., March 9th.

Mrs. Albert Smith was hostess to her card club on Friday afternoon. Honors went to Mrs. Elizabeth Burtard and Mrs. Albert Bakke.

Mr. and Mrs. John Cross and son, Roger, of Marshfield, Wisconsin were recent Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laabs.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geary and daughter, Dorothy, spent Thursday with their daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nenzel at Bloomer.

Miss Bertha Kraut returned home on Thursday evening from a two weeks’ visit with relatives at St. Paul, Minn.

Dorothy Thompson, a student at Central State Teachers College, returned to Stevens Point on Sunday after having spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Thompson.

Mrs. Chas. Jakel entertained at a children’s party on Saturday afternoon in honor of her daughter, Beatrice’s ninth birthday anniversary.

Mrs. Theo. Thompson spent Wednesday and Thursday with relatives in Menominee.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pohl returned home on Wednesday. Mrs. Pohl has been at Milwaukee during the illness and death of her daughter in law, Mrs. Ervin Pohl. Mr. Pohl had been at a niece’s in Waupaca.

The Wilbur Klug family, who have lived in the Green residence here the past several years, moved to a farm home in Hoard near Owen on Saturday.

Miss Iris Johnson spent several days last week with her sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Schauss at Horicon.

A. M. Erickson spent the weekend at LaCrosse with his daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wardwell. Mrs. Erickson, who had spent several days there, returned home with him.

Ernest Stockmeyer accompanied Mr. Erickson and visited his son, Clarence Stockmeyer and family.

Mrs. A. J. Hennlich has been appointed chairman of the local Red Cross membership drive.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Nikkonen, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nikkonen, Mrs. Cecil Simmons all of Lake Forest, Ill., spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pohl. They were called here for the funeral of their sister in law, Mrs. Ervin Pohl, of Colby, Wis.
