Lyons, Lucille (Marriage - 10 Sept. 1949)

Miss Lucille Lyons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lyons of Black River Falls, and John Carl Bitter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Bitter of Abbotsford were married Saturday, Sept. 10, in St. Peter’s Lutheran parsonage at Dorchester, Wis., Rev. F. H. Sprengler reading the marriage ceremony. The bride’s sister, Miss Betty Lyons of Black River Falls, was maid of honor and the groom was attended by his classmate, Robert Lundahl.

The bride wore a grey gabardine suit with red accessories. Her corsage consisted of red and white roses. Her only attendant wore a grey corduroy suit with red accessories and her corsage was similar to that of the bride.

Dinner was served at 5:00 P.M. to 30 guests at the home of the groom’s parents and a reception was given in the evening.

The groom attended Abbotsford schools and the bride Black River Falls schools. The groom served in the U.S. Navy for 18 months and is now employed by the Hogeson Construction Company of Minneapolis. A honeymoon will be spent in the northern part of the state.
