Swienton, Sylvia M. (10 OCT 1942)

St. Hedwig’s Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Saturday, Oct. 10th, 1942, when Sylvia Mae Swienton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Swienton of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Anthony Jacque, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jacque, also of Thorp. The 9 o’clock ceremony was performed by Rev. Lengowski.

The bride was beautifully attired in a white gown of slipper satin with a long train and a veil edged with turquoise shadow lace. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums.

The bridesmaid, a sister of the bride, Mrs. Lucille Badzinski, wore a dress of aqua chiffon. Marcella Swienton, as maid of honor, was attired in blue chiffon. Each wore matching headbands.

Also attending the couple were Leroy Brenner and Lucy Jacque, sister of the groom, who wore a pink chiffon dress and headband. The girls all carried bouquets of yellow chrysanthemums.

The ring bearer, Anita Bogumill, carried a pillow of white satin on which the ring was placed. Her dress and headband were of white taffeta.

The groom and best man, Alex Badzinski, each wore tuxedos.

A reception was held at the American Legion Hall, where lunch was served to about 150 relatives and friends.

The newlyweds will reside at the groom’s farm in Reseburg (Clark Co.).

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. John Jacque, Jr. of Port Washington, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Matt Jacque of Port Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hoff and daughter Dorothy, and Miss Clara Johnson, all of Mandow, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brenner of Gilman, Mr. and Mrs. John Krupa of Gilman, Mrs. Stanley Persak and son Raymond of Gilman, Mrs. John Koslowski and daughter of Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Wally Kozlowski of Owen.
