Wolfe, Verlyn Douglas (8 Oct. 1930 - 24 Aug. 1955)

Verlyn Douglas Wolfe died at his home in Loyal, Wisconsin last week Wednesday at the age of 24 years. He broke his leg about two months ago and death is believed to be due to resulting complications. Funeral services were held at the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby Saturday afternoon, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were James Helm, Richard Witte, Wilbur Witte, William Marten, Merlin Demo and Delmer Pieper. Flowers were in charge of Miss JoAnne Block, Miss Ruth Wiersig, Mrs. Delores Helm and Mrs. Arlene Widmore.

Mr. Wolfe was born on October 8, 1930 and spent his entire life in the Loyal area with the exception of two years in the armed forces during which time he served in the Korean War. Since his discharge, he had been employed at the Pine Grove Cheese Factory.

His wife, the former Audris Schoelzel of Colby, Route 2, and one daughter, Nancy Lee Margaret, survive. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Ed (Ardith) Domine of Milwaukee; four brothers, Richard, Thomas, Ronald and Robert; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wolfe, all of Loyal.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Domine, Mr. and Mrs. John Fina, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Padden and family and Paul and Terry Wolfe, all of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wolfe and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wolfe and family, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wolfe and family, all of Loyal, Mrs. Margaret Foelsch and Marjorie and Mrs. Joan Foelsch of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Schoelzel, Jr., and family of Union Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wachtendonk of Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schoelzel, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brent and Edith of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Schoelzel of Waukegan, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. John Sheets and Darnell Schoelzel of Abbotsford, Glen Schoelzel of Appleton, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hills of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Collier of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Gutenberger of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Domine, Sr., of Loyal and many other friends and relatives from Colby, Loyal, Milwaukee, Riplinger, Unity and Spencer.
