Florence H. Wilson

Florence H. Wilson, 92, of Chili, died at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Don Meuret officiating. Suzanne Golden will be the organist along with Michael Gonering as the vocalist.

Entombment will be in Hillside Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and again from 9:30 a.m. until time of the services Monday at the church.

Florence was born in town of Beaver, Clark County, on April 28, 1915, to Frank and Mary (Stork) Young. She attended school in Beaver. She was united in marriage to Joseph P. Wilson on Nov. 1, 1941, in Chicago, and they later divorced.

She lived in Spencer before moving to Chicago to work. Her husband, Joseph, was an army officer during World War II and was stationed in Texas. They returned to Chicago area with their son, Joseph Jr., after her husband's discharge.

Florence retired as a mailroom supervisor with the Lowrey Organ Manufacturing Company and then returned to central Wisconsin in 2000, living in Chili.

She enjoyed going dancing at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. All of her brothers and sisters were born in Spencer and lived in the Chicago area and were very close to each other.

Florence is survived by one son, Joseph P. Wilson of Chili.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Services for Florence H. Wilson, 92, that were scheduled for today were postponed due to the weather.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield.

The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Church.
