Herman, Ann (29 OCT 1941)

A pretty wedding was solemnized at the St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at nine o’clock on Wednesday morning, Oct. 29th, 1941, when Miss Ann Herman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Herman, became the bride of Hermiss Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Schmidt.

The bride wore a white slipper satin gown fashioned with long sleeves, sweetheart neckline and a long train. Her long lace edged veil was held in place with a white velvet ribbon. She carried white chrysanthemums and ferns.

For her attendants the bride chose Miss Mayme Herman, Miss Evelyn Schmidt, Mrs. James Boylan, Mrs. George Schmidt and Miss Eleanor Herm of Chicago an maid of honor. They was champagne colored gowns with wine veils held in place with wine velvet ribbon and carried wine colored chrysanthemums.

The groom chose for his attendants Rueben Schmidt, Corporal Marion Herman of La., James Boylan and George Schmidt. They all wore dark suits and carnation boutonnieres, the groom a gardenia boutonniere.

The church was beautifully decorated with palms. The procession approached the altar on a white rug. Rev. F.A. Kulig performed the ceremony.

A reception following the ceremony was held at the bride’s home and a free wedding dance was given at the Legion Hall.

The young couple are at home to their friends at Gilman where the groom is employed at the Gilman Dairy.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herman, daughter Eleanor and son Emil, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Herman of Chicago, Corporal Marion Herman of Camp Livingston, La., Corporal Clem Herman of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. James Boylan of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilcenski and family of Gilman.
