Strade, Dodores Audrey (Marriage - 7 May 1955)

Dodores Audrey Strade, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Strade of Abbotsford and Harold Duane Sandley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sandley of Unity, were united in marriage Saturday, May 7, at 1:30 P.M. at the Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby, Wis., Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch reading the marriage ceremony.

The bodice of the bride’s gown was of imported chantilly lace with short sleeves and a tucked nylon tulle yoke coming to a point and buttoned up the front with tiny lace buttons. Her nylon tulle waltz length skirt over satin was completed with lace mitts. Her chantilly lace veil was delicately embroidered with tiny seed pearls forming the tiara for the circular veil of pure silk imported illusion.

Mrs. Alfred Telford of Thorp was matron of honor and Mrs. Ted Sandley of Madison, sister-in-law of the groom, and Miss Ann Kademan of Curtiss, niece of the bride, served as bridesmaids.

Mrs. Telford was attired in a waltz length gown of white nylon tulle over taffeta, tiered bouffant skirt, Alecon type lace top with pleated front and square neckline, short sleeves and matching lace gauntlets. The bridesmaids wore identically styled strapless waltz length gloves, white star lace over coral and over blue, respectively, with rows of ruffles trimming the bouffant skirt, matching stoles and short mitts. Their bouquets consisted of pink and white carnations.

Both mothers wore blue dresses with white accessories with pink and white carnations.

The groom was attended by Alfred Telford of Thorp; brother-in-law of the groom, Ted Sandley and LaVerne Sandley of Unity, brothers of the groom. Sandra Telford of Thorp was flower girl and Brian Watzke of Waunakee was ring bearer.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, supper was served at the church hall and a dance was given at the Colby Park Pavilion.

The couple will make their home on a farm near Loyal.
