Miller, Grace Ann (Marriage - 13 Apr. 1955)

Miss Grace Ann Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Miller of Dorchester, became the bride of James Gutenberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Gutenberger of Colby, in a ceremony at St. Louis Catholic church in Dorchester on Wednesday, April 13th. Msgr. Thomas J. Hayden officiated at the nuptial ceremony.

Miss Jean Miller, of Milwaukee, acted as her sister’s maid of honor wearing a strapless pink gown with fitted bodice of Chantilly lace over taffeta, topped with a matching cape. The skirt was of a floor-length net over taffeta, fully gathered with two net ruffles throughout. A half hat of net leaves sprinkled with tiny rhinestones and a colonial bouquet of white and yellow carnations completed her costume.

Miss Eldora Gutenberger of Dorchester, sister of the groom, and Miss Dorothy Miller of Milwaukee, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids, attired in blue gowns styled identically to that of the maid of honor. Their flowers were pink and white carnations.

Louis Miller of Milwaukee, brother of the bride, was chosen to be best man, while Edwin Broeske of Dorchester and Myron Brecke of Stetsonville, were groomsmen. William Bauer of Colby, and Jack Miller, Jr., Dorchester, cousin of the bride, acted as ushers.

The bride’s mother was attired in a navy dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore a dress of black and gold with beige accessories. Both wore corsages of red roses and pink stephanotis.

The wedding breakfast and reception were held at the home of the bride’s parents after which dinner was served to 150 guests in St. Louis Hall. The wedding cake was baked by Edward Miller of Loyal, a cousin of the bride.

The newlyweds, graduates of Colby and Dorchester high schools, respectively, will make their home in Abbotsford, Wis.

Out of town guests were from Iron Wood, Mich., Milwaukee, Colby, Fence, Tisch Mills, Marshfield, Athens and Greenwood.
