Christina Oesau, daughter of Tyark and Margaret Oesau was born in New Holstein, Calumet Co., Wis., April 7th, 1859. There she spent her girlhood. In 1880 she was married to Fred Borck. They first made their home near Hayton, Calumet Co., where two children were born. In 1883 they came to Clark County and settled on a piece of land in the town of Worden, which was then all virgin forest, to face the hardships and privations of a pioneer life. Here, together with her faithful husband, they lived, and through hard work and perseverance made for themselves a beautiful farm and home and together with the other pioneers developed a prosperous community; were honored and respected by a circle of friends. Eight children were born to them, four sons and four daughters.

In 1919, they sold their farm and moved to Thorp, where she made her home until the past year. She had been spending part of her time with her children at their homes.
