Hauser, Jake (27 Aug. 1901 - 28 Oct. 1954)

Jake Hauser died at his home in Colby last Thursday at 9:45 P.M. after a lingering illness at the age of 53 years. He had been in poor health since last August. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were C. J. Bane, Albert Dins, William Ebert, Art Grauman, W. M. Barr and R. H. Markus.

Mr. Hauser was born on August 27, 1901, in Juda. He and Elsie Meyers were married on April 14, 1926, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After their marriage, the couple moved onto a farm south of Colby where they lived until 1934 when they came to the city of Colby, Wis. He was employed at the Harmony Co-operative Produce Company for 10 years, operated a gas delivery, worked at the Colby Milling Company, and, for the past few years, he worked for the Streckert Manufacturing Company at Abbotsford, Wis.

Surviving are his wife; a son, James Hauser of Monroe, Matt Hauser of Milwaukee, Henry Hauser of Port Edwards and John Hauser of Argyle; seven sisters, Mrs. Vern Ahs of Olwein, Iowa, Mrs. Henry Hefty of Monroe, Mrs. Baltz Heftz of Brodhead, Mrs. Spencer Deal of Hampton, Iowa, Mrs. Albert Grimm, Mrs. Adolph Serchen of Marshfield and Mrs. Rose Nelson of Colby, and two grand sons.

Hauser was well and favorably known in Colby, Wisconsin for his honest and congenial disposition, always endeavoring to perform his duties to the best of his ability. His many friends will miss his kindly smile and friendly greeting.

His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
