Maier, Mary (30 NOV 1900 - 30 JAN 1941)

Miss Mary Catherine Maier passed away of Renal Tuberculosis at Maple Crest Sanatorium, White Lake, Wis., on Friday, Jan. 30, 1941, after an illness of three months duration.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Maier Sr. of the Town of Thorp and was born here on Nov. 30, 1900. She spent most of her young womanhood in this community and attended the local schools. She lived in Colorado for some time and during the five years previous to her last illness, she was employed as sales lady for the Henderson Hoyt Store at Manitowoc.

She was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways so that friendship’s circle was to her a large one. Indeed, it may be said of her that "none knew her but to love her."

She leaves to mourn her untimely death her aged parents, two brothers, George and John Maier of Thorp; four sisters, Sr. Mary Leonissa (Catherine), St. Francis, Wis., Sr. Mary Regis (Anna), Jefferson, (Emma) Mrs. Raymond Gregoire, Hilbert, Wis., and (Pauline) Mrs. Roy Michael, Denver, Colorado.

The body was brought here on Saturday and lay in state at the Bogumill Funeral Home until the time of the funeral, which was held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 9:30 o’clock Tuesday morning, Father A.M. Muckerheide officiating, and interment took place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Benzschawel, Peter Benzschawel, Leo Dulek, Wm. Micke, Anton Beller and Harvey Ebben.
