Klecacky, Josephine (24 APR 1885 - 29 DEC 1940)

Mrs. Frank Klecacky passed away at her farm home just east of the Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) village limits, on Sunday, Dec. 29, 1940, having reached the age of 55 years, 8 months and 5 days. Death was caused by heart disease, from which she had been suffering for a long period of time.

Josephine Spall was born in Czechoslovakia, Europe, on April 24, 1885 and came to America in 1904. She resided for some time in Chicago and on Aug. 16, 1916 was united in marriage to Frank J. Klecacky in Minnesota. They purchased the late Hjalmer Larson’s farm in the town of Withee and moved to Thorp on March 1, 1935. This has since been her home.

Besides her husband and father, John Spal, she also leaves to mourn her untimely demise, four daughters, (Anna) Mrs. Harold Shellcross, (Sylvia) Mrs. Otto Everett, (Lillian) Mrs. Jas. Martl, of Chicago, and Mildred Klecacky at home; Milton Kodl of Thorp, son by former marriage to John Kodl in 1905; one brother, Joseph in Europe; two sisters, Mary Penkava of Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Stella Kodl of Thorp, and eleven grandchildren.

Services were held at the Bogumill Funeral Home here at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. C.R. Gaylord of the Methodist Church of Stanley, officiating, and interment taking place in the East Thorp Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Thos. Gunia, Frank Pietras, Wm. Glasshof Sr., Anton Cieciora, Mike Kozikoski and Alfred Burkhardt.
