Jakel, Anna (18 July 1894 - 11 Aug. 1953)

Mrs. Anna Jakel, age 59, passed away at her farm home near Curtiss, Wisconsin, early Tuesday morning, Aug. 11, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, August 13, at 2:30 o’clock at the Ev. and Reformed church, Rev. O. K. Odland officiating, and burial will be made in the Pine Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Jakel was born on July 18, 1894, in Fulda, Germany, and moved to St. Paul, Minn., at the age of six. After the death of her parents in 1906, she came to live here. She was married in December, 1912, to Chas. Jakel and has lived here since. She was a faithful member of the Ev. and Reformed church and its Women’s Guild. She was active in community affairs and will be missed by a host of friends as well as members of her family.

Surviving are five sons, Arnold of Milwaukee, Carl on the home farm, Robert of Cedar Rapids, Ia., Dale in service on Guam, Dennis at home; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Elaine) Hermanson of Brook, Ind., Mrs. Paul (Lucile) Steiner of Kingfischer, Oklahoma, and Beatrice at home, and eight grand children. Her husband passed away in 1951 and a son, Elmer, in November 1949.
