At high noon Saturday, July 5, at the Curtiss Evangelical Lutheran church of Curtiss, amid a lovely and beautiful church setting the marriage ceremony read by the Rev. G. E. Borreson united Miss Ardith Elizabeth Stadler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Stadler of Owen, and Thomas James Luitink, son of Mrs. Arma Luitink of Milwaukee, in holy wedlock.

The church was beautifully decorated with ferns and large baskets of blue delpheniums, yellow lillies and baby breath. White delpheniums, regal lillies and white flax outlined the altar.

The petite dark haired bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage, was gowned in sheer white marquissette over shimmering satin. The snug bodice buttoned up the back and was set with a high round neckline, with long fitted sleeves slightly puffed at the shoulder. The extremely full skirt extended into a long sweeping train. Her illusion fingertip veil which was edged in appliqued rose point lace was caught from a small tulle Mary Queen of Scots bonnet. She carried a shower bouquet of Talisman roses and baby’s breath. The bride’s only jewelry was her baby locket.

The matron of honor, her sister, Mrs. Eldred Strebe, wore a delicate petal pink bouffant gown fashioned with a long fitted basque of Aleucon lace, with a sweetheart neckline, having short puffed sleeves and a bullowing tulle skirt.

The bridesmaid, Miss Eleanor Augustine, a close friend of the bride, wore an identically styled gown of heavenly blue. Each wore circular shoulder-length veils to match their gowns, caught from flowers set high in their hair. They each carried a bouquet of roses and white carnations.

Little Darleen Thorson, a second cousin of the bride was the flower girl. She wore a dress of yellow organdy with a blue sash and having a high neckline and puffed sleeves. She carried a lace basket filled with garden flowers.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother in law, Eldred Strebe, both of whom wore dark blue coats and white flannel trousers with buttonaires of white carnations.

The bride’s mother wore a dress of saddle tan Bemberg sheer with white accessories at the wedding service.

The groom’s mother wore a dusty rose jacketed dress with white accessories. Each wore a gardenia corsage.

During the ceremony Clark Nissen sang, "At Dawning" and "Because." He was accompanied by Miss Betty Dike at the organ.

Arthur Stadler of Chicago, a brother of the bride, was honorary usher assisted by Robert Naslund of Super-

Rev. and Mrs. Borreson. Later a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Stadler, for over a hundred guests. The home was decorated with bouquets of garden flowers and white bells. The long tables were decorated with lighted tapers and a large wedding cake serving as the center piece.

The newlyweds left for a week’s outing at the groom’s summer home at Chetek, after which they will be at home to their friends at 2463 N. 49th street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen high school and of a Milwaukee business college. For the past four years she has been employed as a stenographer with the North Western Store Equipment Corp. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The bridegroom attended high school at Milwaukee as well as business college and is a secretary with the Luitink Manufacturing Corp.

Out of town guests were Mrs. Clara Heinzel of Van Couver, Wash.; Mrs. Alma Naslund, Master Robert Naslund, and Eric Naslund of Superior; Mrs. Nathan Azin, Arthur Stadler Jr., and Johnny Gazetta of Chicago, Ill.; Robert Quenced, Miss Leah Gravel, Miss Ollie Breit, Miss Eleanor Augustine, Miss Melba Augustine, Carl Botterude, Mrs. Arma Luitink, Mrs. Emsie Nussbaumer, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Zeitlow and children of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Knight and children of Abbotsford; and Mr. and Mrs. Einer Rasmussen of Chicago.

Pre-Nuptial Shower

A lovely shower was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nissen and was attended by 50 guests, at which time she received many lovely and useful gifts.
