Sixel, Jeanette (Marriage - 2 Aug. 1952)

Miss Jeanette Sixel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ary Sixel of Colby, and David Robert Knaup, son of Mrs. Erna Knaup of Milwaukee, were united in marriage at the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Franz Puhlmann officiating at the double ring ceremony.

The bride, presented in marriage by her father, wore a gown designed with a Chantilly lace bodice over satin and a satin skirt ending in a full train. Her finger tip veil fell from a small lace cap and she carried a bouquet of white mums and ivy centered with two white orchids.

Mrs. Harold Nedset of Milwaukee was matron of honor. She was attired in a floor-length aqua frock of lace and nylon tulle, Mums composed her headdress and she carried a bouquet of yellow gladioli and button mums.

Harold Nedset was best man and Harold Baumgartner of Colby ushered.

The bride’s mother wore an indigo blue gown with a matching hat and the groom’s mother wore a beige gown of lace and a white hat. Both had white carnation corsages.

Annabelle Klaar, accompanied by Miss Rent Bauer, sang two solos, "Because" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

A dinner was served in the parish hall followed by a reception.

The bride is a graduate of the Colby High School and the Milwaukee School of Nursing. The groom is an electronic technician at the A.C. Sparkplug Co.

After a honeymoon trip in Northern Michigan, the couple will be at home at 1348 N. 44th St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Out-of-town guests here for the wedding were from Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Jackson, Green Bay, Waupaca, Rozellville and Owen.
