Zimbal, Phyllis C. (Marriage - 6 Nov. 1948)

Phyllis C. Zimbal, daughter of Mrs. Laura Blodgett, and Floyd DeLos Bowen, son of Ethel Bowen, exchanged marriage vows at the Norwegian Lutheran parish hall at Curtiss Saturday afternoon, Nov. 6th, 1948, Rev. C. F. Borreson officiating at the candle light double ring ceremony. David Borreson sang, "O Perfect Love," accompanied by his sister at the piano. At the close of the service, Rev. Borreson sang. LaVade Smith of Loyal was maid of honor and Mrs. Lee Gayken of Curtiss was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Lester Bowen, and a friend, Lee Gayken.

The bride was attired in a pink crepe formal with finter-tip veil of pink and her bonnet consisted of pompoms. The maid of honor wore an aqua taffeta formal with flowers in her hair and her shoulder corsage consisted of pink roses and white carnations. The bridesmaid wore a blue marquisette formal with flowers in her hair and her shoulder corsage consisted of pink roses and white carnations.

A reception, attended by 50 relatives and friends, was given at the parish hall at Curtiss which was decorated with pink, blue and white streamers. A dance was given at Walter’s pavilion at Colby in the evening.

The couple will make their home at Curtiss, Wis., where the groom operates the Bowen Trucking Service.
