Witt, Elaine (Marriage - 4 June 1948)

Miss Elaine Witt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Witt of Abbotsford, and Milford C. Frome, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Frome of Colby, were united in marriage at Zion Lutheran church Friday afternoon, June 4th, at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony.

Mrs. Casper A. Cobb was matron of honor, Mrs. Harlan Witt and Mrs. Charles Allmann were bridesmaids and Joanna Witt, sister of the bridesmaid, was junior bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Arnold Strathman as best man and Harlan Witt and Charles Allmann as ushers.

The bride wore an entrained gown of white marquisette over satin, fashioned with a square yoke edged with double ruffles, fitted bodice and long sleeves. Two ruffles extended from her hip line into a fish tail back. An organdy and illusion bonnet held a silk illusion fingertip veil. Her bouquet consisted of white lilies and Janna hill roses with lilies of the valley. The bride’s attendants wore identical dresses in pastel colors of white, green, yellow and orchid, styled similar to the bride’s with a square yoke to fish tail back worn with matching pastel hats and mitts. All wore gold crosses, gifts of the bride. Their colonial bouquets consisted of white gladiolus and pink delight roses.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, and, in the evening, a wedding dance at Walter’s pavilion.

The couple will be at home after June 15th in Colby where the groom is employed at the Kriplean Brothers garage.
