The Ladies Aid Society of the Evangelical and Reformed church will meet with Mrs. Henry Buss on Wednesday, Jan. 7th.

Mrs. William Maki will be hostess to the Ladies’ Aid Society of the Ev. Lutheran church, Thursday, Jan. 1, at the church hall.

The Helping Hand Society of the Congregational church held its annual meeting and Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Fred Pudlas Dec. 19. Officers elected were Mrs. Ernest Mowery, president; Mrs. Fred Pudlas, vice president; Mrs. Minnie Green, secretary; and Mrs. Lee Smiley, treasurer.

Mrs. Doris Phillips and son, Billy, returned Monday to their home in Denver, Colo., after spending Christmas week with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Phillips at Midway.

Pearl Thieme, who is attending school at Delevan, spent the Christmas vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Thieme, at Hoard.

Loretta Smith, who is employed in Chicago, spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith.

Iris Johnson, Chicago, was a holiday guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Johnson.

Christmas Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laabs were the latter’s mother, Mrs. Emma Eide, Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Eide and family of Granton; and Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Baumann, Springfield, Ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matthias and family of Ashland visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Matthias, several days last week.

Mrs. Gunvald Gilbertson returned last week here with her husband’s mother, Mrs. Mattie Gilbertson, who is ill.

Miss Nellie Sharp and Mrs. Blanche Allard left Monday for Greenwood to spend the holidays with friends and relatives.

Miss Emily Ann Hennlich, Milwaukee, spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hennlich.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvel Borgemoen, Chicago, spent Christmas with the former’s mother, Mrs. John Borgemoen, and son, Victor. On Thursday they went to the Marathon county sanitarium, Wausau, where John Borgemoen has been a patient the past 1 ½ years.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peterson of Madison spent the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Peterson.

Albert Klessig went to Chicago to spend Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Andor Kraut.

The members of the Congregational church held their annual meeting and fellowship dinner on Friday, Dec. 26th, at the home of Mrs. Minnie Green.

Guests over the holidays at the A. M. Erickson home were their son, John Erickson of Brookings, S.D., and daughter, Ethel Erickson, and *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
