Schmeltz, Marie (25 Mar. 1882 - 12 Sept. 1947)

Mrs. Marie Schmeltz of the town of Green Grove, Wisconsin died of a heart ailment of about 10 years duration, Friday, Sept. 12, at 9:30 a.m. Funeral services were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, the Rev. Olson of Unity officiating, and internment was made in the Oakland cemetery at Beaver Dam, Wis.

The deceased was born in Germany on March 25, 1882, thus reaching the age of 65 years, five months and 17 days. She came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Raatz, in 1888 and settled in Dodge county. She was married to Julius Schmeltz at Beaver Dam May 12, 1907. She came to Green Grove in 1944.

Surviving is one brother, Albert Raatz, of Owen, Wis. She was of a very industrious disposition, honest in all her dealings and was well-liked by all who knew her.

Out of town people attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Elfe Schoenwetter of Tomahawk, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raatz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Raatz and family of Unity. Those who accompanied the remains to Beaver Dam were Albert Raatz, Miss Anna Raatz and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wiegman.
