Colby - May 29, 1947

Lenore Lenz returned from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.

Martha Weller visited with friends at Park Falls Sunday.

Mrs. Amelia Weix returned from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. William Burmeister of Park Falls visited several days last week with Mrs. John Schlimm.

Mrs. Richard Glenzer returned to Colby Saturday after visiting two weeks with relatives in Chicago and Stevens Point.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marquardt left Wednesday for Mercer, Wis., where they will spend the summer at their cottage.

Week-end guests at the home of Rev. and Mrs. M. B. Ferguson were Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Spry of Neillsville and Misses Joyce and Jo Ann Foenell of Granton.

Mrs. Callie Krepsky of Mason City, Iowa, is visiting at the home of her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. George Krepsky, and her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Neck.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Pokallus left Wednesday evening for Milwaukee, where they will attend the wedding of their daughter, Bernice, to Tom Allo of Milwaukee, which takes place Saturday morning.

Devere Primeau, a student at the University of Wisconsin, spent a few days at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Primeau, and then left for Minocqua where he will be employed this summer.

Miss Beatrice Kraus spent the week-end with relatives in Chicago. Her nieces, Camille and Raquel Morales, who spent the past three weeks at the home of their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Kraus, returned to Chicago with her.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Whitney, Jr., of Madison are spending this week with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Whitney of Colby and at the George Kelsey home at Abbotsford, Wisconsin. They also spent several days fishing. Claude, Jr., is attending University at Madison.

Colby people who attended the funeral services for Emil Umhoefer at Marshfield Friday morning were Mr. and Mrs. A. X. Umhoefer, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Umhoefer, Miss Barbara Umhoefer, Mrs. John Gries, Albert Weix, Ray Weix, C. J. Kraus, Mrs. F. J. Steinwand, Leonard Schraufnagel, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weix and Miss Mary Umhoefer.
