Honor Green Grove Pastor

The Rev. M. C. Goetsch, pastor of the Green Grove, Wis. - Curtiss and South Green Grove parish, was honored last Sunday afternoon by the combined membership of his parish, observing the 25th anniversary of his pastorate in their midst. An impressive jubilee service was conducted by the Rev. O. Hoffmann of Colby, with Mrs. J. McCorrison of Curtiss presiding at the organ. In recognition of their services, Rev. and Mrs. Goetsch were presented with a large silver covered chest containing cash donations by members of the three congregations. Mrs. George Hoff, president of the Curtiss Ladies Aid and Mrs. Raymond Miller, treasurer of the Green Grove Ladies Aid, each presented a gift in behalf of their respective organizations.

A beautiful bouquet, a gift from the Curtiss Ladies Aid, adorned the altar, and the Green Grove Ladies Aid furnished corsages for Rev. and Mrs. Goetsch. Pastor Goetsch responded in appropriate and heartfelt words of appreciation. After the service, the large assembly repaired to the church dining hall which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. A center attraction was a cake baked by Mrs. Paul Wolk, ornamented with a miniature church covered by a snowy frosting representing "The Little Brown Church In The Vale." All enjoyed a delicious luncheon and all agreed that the event was well planned and one long to be remembered.
